Natural Dye Re-Dyeing Service

To help you enjoy your favorite piece for as long as possible, we offer a re-dyeing service for our naturally dyed products.

Natural dyes gradually change in color over time. Fading and subtle shifts in tone caused by wear and washing are part of the unique beauty of natural dyeing.

Much like breaking in a pair of denim jeans, each piece develops its own character depending on how it is worn and the time spent with it.

After you have enjoyed these natural changes over time, the garment can be dyed again, allowing it to take on a new expression.

We believe that our craftsmanship does not end when a piece is made. Re-dyeing and continuing to wear it for many years is also part of the life of the garment.

Products Eligible for Re-Dyeing

Our re-dyeing service is available only for single-color products that were naturally dyed by us.

Available Dyes & Prices

  • Indigo Dye – ¥5,500
  • Bengara Dye – ¥4,400
  • Soot Dye – ¥4,400

As a general rule, we re-dye each product using the same dye that was originally used, layering new color over the existing shade.

Products dyed in multiple colors, tie-dyed items, and other products with special dyeing techniques are not eligible for this service.

Depending on the condition of the product, we may not be able to accept it for re-dyeing.

Important Information About Re-Dyeing

Unlike conventional synthetic dyes, our natural dyeing process uses dyes derived from natural materials.

Please note that we cannot restore the product to exactly the same color as when it was new.

The final result will vary depending on factors such as the condition of the dye, temperature, humidity, and the condition of the fabric after years of wear. Each piece will absorb the dye differently.

Areas affected by sunlight, perspiration, body oils, stains, or friction may remain uneven in tone after re-dyeing. In some cases, stains that were previously less noticeable may become more visible after the dyeing process.

We see these variations as part of the unique character that comes from a garment being worn and enjoyed over time.

Re-dyeing is not about returning the garment to its original condition.
It is about layering new color over the history and character the piece has already developed.

We hope you will enjoy the one-of-a-kind finish that can only be achieved through natural dyeing.

STEP 2

Send Us Your Product

Once your order has been confirmed, please send the product to us.

Before shipping, please wash the item and make sure it is completely dry and clean.

Shipping costs to us are the responsibility of the customer.

STEP 3

Inspection

After receiving your item, we will inspect the fabric, stitching, stains, sun fading, discoloration, and overall condition.

If we determine that the item is not suitable for re-dyeing, we will contact you before beginning the process.

STEP 4

Re-Dyeing

Each item is re-dyed individually while carefully checking its condition.

Fabric that has been worn for many years absorbs dye differently from new fabric, so we adjust the process to suit each individual piece.

STEP 5

Finishing & Return Shipping

After dyeing, the item is washed, dried, finished, and prepared for return to you.

Re-dyed products will be returned by Japan Post Letter Pack or Sagawa Express.

We hope you will continue to enjoy your renewed piece for many years to come.

Lead Time

From the time we receive your product, please allow approximately 1 to 3 weeks for the re-dyeing process to be completed.

The turnaround time may vary depending on the condition of the product, the dyeing process, and the time of year.

If you need your item returned sooner, please contact us before placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate your request where possible.

Important Notes

Please read and understand the following before requesting our re-dyeing service.

  • We cannot reproduce exactly the same color as when the item was new.
  • The final color will vary depending on the age and condition of the fabric.
  • Sun fading and existing discoloration may result in variations in tone after re-dyeing.
  • Areas affected by perspiration, body oils, grease, food stains, or other marks may become visible as stains or uneven color after re-dyeing.
  • This service is not intended to completely conceal heavy stains or marks.
  • We may decline re-dyeing if the fabric or stitching is significantly damaged.
  • The dyeing process may cause slight changes in the texture or dimensions of the fabric.
  • Due to the nature of natural dyes, exact shades and color intensity cannot be specified.
  • Re-dyed products will continue to gradually change in color through wear, washing, and exposure to sunlight.

Re-Dye, Re-Wear, Keep Growing.

Fading is not the end of a naturally dyed garment.

The color changes as you wear it,
develops a character that belongs only to you,
and can then be renewed with another layer of dye.

One garment, worn for as long as possible.

We believe in creating products that continue to evolve with the people who wear them.
We hope your re-dyed piece will continue to accompany you and develop new character over many more years.
