This organic cotton stole is slowly and softly woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom in Nishiwaki City, a major producer of Harima-ori fabric. Using the smooth texture of organic cotton and natural indigo and soot dyes, the yarn is dyed in a skein dyeing process, resulting in a gradation design. This scarf is gentle on both your skin and the environment. Because it's hand-dyed, the color variation differs with each piece. It's cool in summer and perfect for protecting against air conditioning or sun. This versatile stole can be worn year-round by both men and women.
*We recommend using a laundry net and washing on the dry mode.
*Please refrain from using a dryer.
【 JAPAN MADE 】Shuttle power loom
In 2013, I inherited a vintage shuttle loom from my mentor.
Using this rare loom, one of only a few remaining in Japan and still operating after nearly 80 years, I weave every fabric with care and intention.
By weaving slowly and reducing yarn tension to the absolute minimum, the fabric develops a remarkable softness, natural texture, and exceptional comfort against the skin.

This cotton is grown on farmland certified by an independent third-party organization after more than three years of cultivation in accordance with organic farming standards.
Full traceability is maintained throughout the entire supply chain, with every stage—from cultivation and distribution to storage and sales—carefully documented and verifiable. By providing clear information about when, where, and by whom the cotton was produced, as well as how it was distributed, consumers can have confidence in the authenticity and integrity of the organic cotton.

【 Dyeing 】Soot dyeing
Soot is carbon produced by the incomplete combustion of organic matter and is the raw material for ink.
Dyes made with pine soot produce a deep, inky black color.
Colors made from natural ingredients blend naturally with the body.
We use safe, eco-friendly soot dyes born from the bounty of nature and returning to nature. Leo personally hand-dyes the products, personally checking the final color.

*Please note that the color of this product may transfer to other items. Wear it several times and wear a dark-colored inner layer until the color settles.
*Do not wash with other items. We recommend washing it alone.
*As each item is dyed by hand, the color will vary from item to item. Each item is unique.
